Now is the Place, Here is the Time is a 30-minute long performance with on-site and real-time audiovisual recording and processing at Floating University Berlin. It conceptually explores the critical human-nature relationship mediated by technology, with a live composition using contact microphone and sonic resonance, conducted and intervened by performer’s physical movement in the immediate environmental soundscape.

The detachment between the performer and the surrounding nature was intensified by the covering of a protective garment, and a white canvas installed in between them on the stage with a bandage or cocoon like shape, protects, constraints, and gives birth to a new life form. The canvas was also used as a screen during performance with projected video filmed in real-time by a camera facing the direction of the audience and their surroundings.

Now is the Place, Here is the Time was performed on September 5th at Climate Care 2021: The Rewilding Years at Floating University Berlin. It is a part of Un-domesticating the Wild, a program instructed by Daisuke Ishida at Sound Studies and Sonic Arts (Master of Arts), Universität der Künste Berlin.
